What Colour Wheels

Getting my wheels re-furbed next week and was thinking about a slightly different colour, I was thinking a graphite colour not quite anthracite but somewhere in between that and silver, or just stick with the silver, any thoughts or pics would be a big help.

I was looking at this place in Manchester called The Wheel Specialist.

Their gallery here shows lots of different finishes:

I like the black chrome finish because my car is silver so I don't think it would suit anything black or dark grey. The black chrome is like silver but just a bit meaner looking IMO :)

Very nice Wozza think i'll have to wait and see when I take the car down to get them done hopefully he'll have some colour charts or pics to give me a better idea.

These types of wheel places usually have at least one wheel in each finish to have a look at - when I went to BJV (the place WIM uses) they had a wheel in each of the colours...........gotta agree black chrome is my favourite. It only really works on wheels that have a decent number of reflective surfaces, so on the standard IS wheels it should look pretty good.

i think high power silver looks best but if you really want a bit darker go for a dark chrome, it makes the wheels look non oem finish rather than just silver or grey :)

Ok it's going to get done on Sat so any more thoughts would be ideal, not black chrome tho it's too expensive :whistling:

hi andy, whats the difference in price between silver and black chrome?

Alot apparently must be something to do with the metallic flecks in the paint on the black chrome, the guy doing mine said it was £80 a litre (at least I think thats what he said) for the black .

Sounds about right for the black chrome paint matey, are you having them wet sprayed then instead of powder coated?

Don't know to be honest Chris, all I know is he's going to clean em up repair any damage and paint em any colour I want (apart from black chrome) and then laqure( sorry don't know how to spell) em he does all the wheels for Karl Vella accident repair centre in Southport and is meant to be really really good.

On that link above, how do they get the finish that's on the one "polished M3"? That looks really cool, not too shiny like chrome but nice like polished metal :)

I like that a lot, and will have to look into it if I ever refurb again............

Think I will go silver Gord just to be safe ;)

yeh i think silver is best, darker colours need a chrome or stainless rim to break up the dark colour of rim and tyre, imo :)

dont want to look like you lost your wheel trims

or havnt washed your wheels for a couple of years

Not sure about the sparkle silver when I looked closely at it and looke like it had white flecks in it an looked like some of the paint had flaked, fair enough it was only a pic and is prob a million tiimes better in the flesh but it put me off.

Spikes I love my wheels shiny so your right it would just look dirty to me and would do my head in.
