Engine Gauge - Startup Procedure

Hi,

Got a question to ask about startup procedure. I've driven several Japanese cars and I used to turn the key to ON position, wait until the engine gauge is off and then start the engine. Now with my IS 200 the gauge goes go on and remains like that until I start the engine. Is it correct?

I thought it was the LPG installation I have so I checked another IS 200 without LPG and it was the same - the gauge did not go off until I started the engine.

Did not find anything in the car's manual so I'd be glad if you let me know how it looks like with your cars.

Yeah thats the way it is in the IS, i thought i'd had a problem on mine cause it was doing that, but it was just me being paranoid lol
