Is200 Oil Change

Will be my first to change oil on my IS200. Can somebody post some pics, would be highly appreciated. Thanks

Same as any oil change really apart from the filter. It is located under the inlet manifold on the near side towards the front and about half way up the block. Real pig to get at.

Yep it is a pig to get to, easiest way is to take the plastic tray off the bottom of the car and try and get your arms in around the suspension from underneath. And try not to get covered in oil when the filter comes off, or you'll look like this

I take the passenger front side wheel (with car jacked up) you can then use a long reach oil filter gripper to remove to filter. Once your under the car.

its a nightmare to change the filter, get someone else to do it :D

bleh tried getting at mine today, pain the the a**.

recon i could just change the oil (last service 6 months ago) and leave the filter to the next service? or would it be pointless?

i done mine today using just a trolley jack and 2 bricks. jacked up the front and sat the wheels on the bricks to give me enough clearance to get under the car. oil drained and managed to get my arm up and remove and replace the oil filter without removing the plastic covers. was a bit messy with the oil filter but wiped off what i could then jetwashed under the car. job done in about 20mins .......

How much are the filters, can anyone link me etc so I can order one for next week please :) got to get started on the brakes as well eek :( really need it through the mot now been without for a month. And which oil do I need to get as well? I've never done this before an it hasnt been serviced for at least 3 years or more :( should be driving like a new car when I'm done I hope
