Possible To 'tighten' The Steering - More Feel

It might be my old IS and that it's been involved in a crash, ... but even with tracking done at the dealer, when you turn the wheel you don't get as much feel as you do when I drove the (current) 3-series. Is there anything one could do personally - increase the PSI of the tyres, etc or does it require Tony to adjust the geometry and tracking or what?

At slow speeds you do get more feel but at faster speeds it really is 'loose' steering ---- I thought that Japanese cars tend to drive like this anyhow? Sometimes I feel I have to hold the wheel with my hands to keep the wheel 'still' if you understand what I mean!

I know what you mean. The steering is a little bit over-assisted. I'd also prefer it to be geared a bit higher too so I don't have to turn as much for conners. Since getting the IS200 I've found myself feeding the wheel through my hands a lot, whereas in most cars I just keep my hands fixed in the same place for most corners.

I don't think there's much you can do about it.

One thing I've found about front wheel drive cars is that the steering can feel weighty because the suspension is set up to try and stop torque steer - which is a bit of a cheat. That's not a problem on the IS200!

i felt this.. .the best way to solve the feel, effect of the car at higher speeds is to upgrade your anti roll bar set.. I used TTE ones, made a massive difference to the feel and overall road holding... I kid you not.

I've been wanting some of these, now I want them even more after reading your post :)
