Is200 Sat Nav Problem

Hi All,

First time poster. The brother recently bought a 2003 IS200. There is sat nav installed in the boot but no sat nav cd rom present. At this stage we dont even know if the sat nav works.

We brought it to a main dealer and they are looking crazy money for the sat nav cd rom or to even look at the system so that isnt an option.

Is there any way to check if the system actually works, or is their a cheap cd rom we can get somewhere.

Any help greatly appreciated.

you'll have to buy a DVD not CD from www.lexus-mapupdates.eu however as you don't have your disc in there, ask your parts department to give you the part number of the disc that should have come with your car.

From these details you can purchase an updated disc for a cheaper price...

I wonder if there are any other LOC members in Ireland who also have an IS200 with Sat Nav who you might be able to meet up with, to try out their disc to see if your system does actually work ?

My sat nav no longer works as i put a new headunit in so will be gettin rid of it and replacing it with a screen. The cd rom cam with mine so i would sell it to you if your interested

just put any cd in the reader, and if its comes up with "invlaid disk" on the screen then you know that it works becuase its reading the disk.

i have an outdated cd from my 99 IS200 (the one that came with the car) i'll sell you that if your interested however not sure if the 99/03 system are same?

Doubt it, a 1999 car will have a CD based sat nav system where as a 2003 car will have DVD based sat nav system.

BTW- non goldies cannot offer items for sale.

Is Ireland covered by the Nav disc? I think there have be doubts raised in the past.

I bought a UK import IS and it had the orignal disc in it{03} with Ireland was not covered. So i bought the update and works no bother. If your in the area around Dublin thewaterboy, give me a shout and u can check my dvd in ur machine !!
