Checked WhatCar site for ins grouup. Says 13.

Though I read somewhere that the Sport is 14 (SE and S still 13).

Other info it threw up may be interesting...

(Valuation is for my car, though standard, which it is not!. Formatting may not be great.)

Lexus IS Saloon (99-05) 200 2.0 Sport 4dr 2001 (X )75,000 miles

Dealer £4,520

Private £4,050

Part exchange £3,865

Trade £3,640

Cost new £20,800

For: The super-reliable IS is good to drive, has individual looks and comes well equipped

Against: The cabin is disappointing, rear accommodation is tight, no diesels and it's expensive to buy

Reliability: Joint first place in 2007 JD Power survey speaks volumes. Alloy wheels corrode on early cars, and clutch judder can affect gearboxes.

you dont tell them - B) and it remains a group 12 :)

And then when you have an accident, the insurance company finds out you that have an undeclared modification, and invalidates your insurance, leaving you with a very large bill :nugget:

what happens if i "supercharge" it

Find a modification-friendly insurance company who will cover it.

EDIT - If you become a Gold member of LOC then you'll find there are several mod-friendly insurance companies who will give Gold members a discount.

And a visit from the Police.

crazy-dee - that's a very irresponsible thing to say on a forum.
