My rear passenger window will not operate up or down from either the door switch or the master switch on the drivers dooor, all i get is a click from the motor so i know that there is power to the motor. The motor has been changed and so has the door switch but the master switch has not. Any thoughts out there.

Gary.

Hi Gary

If your window has just packed up but you can hear it trying, you could try removing the door trim and making sure it's not just stuck, I sell quite a few later Rav4's and I've had this on a couple of them, all I've had to do is loosen the fixings for the motor/regulator to the door, wiggle the glass, operate the motor then retighten the bolts. Always seems to fix it.

Otherwise it could be the master switch or of course wiring. Peugeot 306's etc really suffer from broken wires into the drivers door by the hinge, I've had Audi A4's with bad earths on the back doors to.

Good luck

Paul

THANKS PAUL FOR THE REPLY TO MY PROBLEM , I WIL GIVE THAT A TRY AT THE WEEKEND AND POST UP THE RESULTS, THATS IF IT STOPS RAINING LONG ENOUGH TO TRY. IF NOT LOOKS LIKE THE ELECTRICAL TESTER WILL HAVE TO BE DUSTED OFF AND USED IN ANGER.

Paul,

Do you know how to adjust the window mechanism so that it closes correctly and not reopen again. My Mk IV offside rear doesn't close correctly,it goes up and then must hit the top of the door and think something is caught in it and then opens again. I have to isolate the other windows when it gets to the top to stay closed in the correct position. Annoying when wanting to open all the windows on a hot day when get back to the car and have to fiddle about to close it.

Cheers Chris.
