Tyres

Evening everyone.

I'm going tyre shopping online at the moment and have ended up with a bit of a headache. Since owning my first Lexus, I have always sworn by replacing Bridgestone tyres with Michelin. I have found them to be an incredably quiet tyre compared to Bridgestones. On my LS430, the front tyres are Dunlop SP Sport's and on the back I have Michelin Piolot Sports. I have been looking at black circles and have found Continental Sport Contact 3 for £164.85 each and I have also found Michelin Piolot Sports at £175.26 each. I know there is less than £10 per tyre in it but I was wondering which tyres people on here would prefer to fit. Would it make it better if I stuck to the Michelin's so I had the same on each corner or doesn't that really matter? Perhaps Tony from WIM might drop by and have a read of this.

Thanks everyone,

Jim.

The Continental Sport Contact 3's are 245/45 R18 Y (100) reinforced (whatever that means  ) for £164.85 each and the Michelin Piolot Sport's are 245/45 R18 W (96) for £175.26 each. There is a £10 delivery charge on top of that. I'm looking for refienment as apposed to a sporty drive with loads of grip. It may have a sports suspension button (why you would want to make it more uncomfortable is beyone me) but I prefer to waft. Unless I'm using motorway slip roads where I love to give it a bit of wellie to get myself to motorway speeds. Can you fit them as well Tony?

Thanks,

Jim.

Yep i can fit them...... We have one of those new fangled fully automatic tyre changers.... All we do is input the wheel size and it removes/ fits the tyre.... while i have a fag.. ( smoking type if you know what i mean )

Let me do some research on the tyres tomorrow to see what's available and what benefits there are between them.

Thanks Tony. I look forward to hearing from you. I don't mind getting the Continentals at a special offer price but when I need a new pair and they are expensive then it will be difficult to afford them.

Hopefully I can get and see you before JAE if not it will be after.

Cheers,

Jim.
