Question For Sportcross Owners

You know sometimes you think you have been going around with your eyes closed, well just had the tailgate resprayed under warranty, and you know that funny filler thingy on the inside that shields from prying eyes (no not the sliding cover, the one on the tailgate itself)...well mine is curved at the ends and it sticks up above the level of the cover...does yours? I can't remember mine doing this before ??

Also looking carefully, on this little filler thing there are two velcro pads, and on the tailgate two slots aligning with them, but these do nothing on my car ???? should there be additional fixings??

The question now is how many of you are as sad as me and will rush out to have a look !!!

Yes, and it always has.

The “little filler thing” fixes to the tailgate in 4 places, 2 on each side at the outside edge (see photo, those fixings do come off) and 2 nearer the centre of the car which are screwed to the “little filler thing” and have a wee tongue which engages with a slot in the tailgate.

This "filler thing" is a pain in the *** and very dilicate. I is supposed to be easily removable by unklickicg a few plastic parts that hold/align it (the ones that do nothing). If you removed it a few times thes stop klicking (at least they did wit my SX). Ordered a few new plastic bits and left it in place since.
