It happened again...the Check Engine Light, VSC, and TRAC OFF lights are on but car runs just fine. First time it was gas cap not properly tightened-up. Took to dealer and they cleared the codes - all is OK, no cost car on warranty.

I want to clear the codes by myself this time because the vehical is out off warranty and I tried it yestarday - turned the car off, pulled EFI fuse out for at least a 1/2 hr and even pumped a break pedal 20 times - nothing - the lights are still on.

I thought to check with you guys before I pull the negative on the Battery...

Your help is greately apreciated.

Thanks,

Jacek

If the fault is gone then the lights should go out after three ignition off > start engine > run for 20 seconds > ignition off cycles.

If the light doesn't go out after that then there is still a fault. Those lights can come on for a number of different reasons, not just the fuel cap.

Not sure if it is the same problem i had today but I checked all my connections in the engine bay. Turned out a few were loose cause of engine vibrations and such. Remember that if it is a "soft code" (non-terminal) the lights will go out when the problem is fixed. If that doesn't work try taking to any Toyata experienced aftermarket shop, a shop dealing in Supras will usually be able to help.
