Well i'm not massively into this detailing lark, normally the car gets a top price Jet wash but thats about it.

So today i did a bit myself. The missus got me an Autoglym set for Christmas and i've since got myself a Mitt, some Poorboys clay and lube.

So to start with i Washed it with the Autoglym Car shampoo, using two buckets and the mitt.

Then i let it dry off and cracked on with the claying, never done it before but cracked on, lubing then claying as i went. Managed to drop a piece so that went straight in the bin and carried on.

Did all that then applied the Autoglym polish with a little polishing pad, then i've got a little random polisher my Grandad gave me so i went over the car with car to buff it all up. Then went round with a cloth to check it.

Polished the glass with Autoglym stuff and cleaned the wheels by hand after that.

Not a huge list of things and realise i should wax and seal after that, but dont have any yet so i'll sort myself some out for next time.

Anyway a few pictures:

Came up well didn't it? Looks good especially since you've yet to seal and ...wax on, wax off, wax on, wax off  :shruriken:

Yeah looking good. I've reversed evolution, I used to be obsessive about cleaning the car, now it gets a jetwash every couple of months if it's lucky!!

Is it just me, or does it look purple?

looks good stav mate.

must say though, the 2nd to last pic does look more purple if u know what i mean. its probably just the sun hitting the metallic flake.

do u have that warm glow of satisfaction after doing it? (apart from when it rained.....)

Yeah it was a fair bit of work but def satisfying. feeling the glass smooth paintwork as well.

get some sealant on there ASAP mate. any sign of bird cr@p etc on the paint and u could have some etching to deal with :crybaby::unsure:

Looking great mate. I know i should get round to doing mine, but it' s finding the time!

Looks very purple in a couple of pics. I still can't decide if I like your wheels. I know a woman with an RX8 and really dislike the bitch, I think that's swaying my opinion of them!

Nice work Stav, can I just ask... how did you manage to mount your front plate like that? I may do the same.
