Radio Message

I was driving back from Bristol City's defeat down the M4 on Saturday and the kids were listening to a cassette.

The cassette stopped, the unit beeped, switched to CD and the radio's display showed 'Alarm'.

I pressed the tape button again and everything was fine.

Anyone else had this??

I'd guess the tape player has an intermittent fault.

I'd like to help more but haven't ever used the tape player in an IS200.

Aliens.

Its happened quite a few times with radio, cd or tape - government warning test signal. (PTY code 31). In a real emergency your radio will override cd/tape and switch to the transmitting broadcaster regardless of you having PTY switched on or not.

Hmmm, it would also seem that certain local authorities are getting very edgy, making sure their lists of phones in buildings that will still work if the power & switchboard fails are up-to-date all of a sudden. Not naming names, like...
