General Is200 Trim Level Advice

Recommended Posts

Hopefully this thread is in the right section. I need some general advice on trim levels that are available for the IS200. Is the only difference between the SE & sport the suspension? Ideally I would want the sport, as it's top of the tree as such in the Phase one IS200's. I have been scouting autotrader, pistonheads and I really like the deep blue colour, along with black. My question is are the blue IS200's(Not sure of specific paint name) available in sport trim with the cream half leather? I'm sorry if that all seems abit confusing but i'm a newbie to the lexus scene. I just want a Lexus IS200 sport, in blue, with half cream leather. Is there such a thing? or is the cream only for the SE?

Thanks for any help, Ryan.

Welcome to the club! :)

You can have a Sport in any colour combo, so blue with cream is possible as long as you can find one (think the cream interior is much rarer than the black).

Differences between Sport and SE are the height of suspension, Sport has an limited slip differential, tinted windows from B pillar backwards, rear spoiler, two tone steering wheel, and a few other little things like stainless steel pedals and scuff plates...........If you're buying a manual may as well get a sport as I doubt the price difference will be that much, if you're getting an auto, you can only get them as SEs.

Btw, there are three blues on the IS depending on the age of the cars you're looking at:

Up to 2001: Sapphire Blue

2001-2004: Strathcaron Blue

After 2004: Montrose Blue

Sapphire and strathcaron are actually quite similar, Montrose is a much darker blue..............

Thanks for the welcome Parthiban. :)

That is exactly the kind of informative reply I was after, thank you very much, that's very helpful. So the hunt is on then, for a sport in sapphire blue, with cream interior for under £4.5k :D

Mine is early 2001 and two electric heated seats.

Go for the sport mate. You will find one at that price, but the cream interior is rarer than the black, less practical too i would imagine!!!

There are spec sheets pinned in this forum.
