Is 200 Cd/tape Player

Just got my new Lexus IS200 & my CD/Tape player dont seem to be working properly... I've not tested the tape player just yet, But the cd player does not work at all. The radio is working fine. When i click on the CD button, I makes that funny sound & try's to load it but no luck what so ever. The person before me said they have never used it before, it was like that when they got it. The system shows that there is a CD in there in 1 & 2 but not sure about 3. What can i do from here guys & is this a commen thing with Lexus?

Sorry fella, it's a common fault, and most are outside the extended warranty for returns.

You can replace the head unit with an aftermarket one though.

Which is the best aftermarket one to go for? & that would fit without any problems at all ??

You will need to get an amp by-pass lead (thats what I had to get and don't think anythings changed but i'm sure someone will correct me if it has), whatever stereo you fancy will do but there's no easy way of doing it if you've got small hands that will help. You may want to think about changing your speakers aswel if you like your music very very loud. Hope this helps.

Not sure about speaker size as I hav'nt changed mine but i'm sure someone will know. The by-pass lead is on e-bay :winky: you'll also need the facia replacement thingy bit (thats my technical term for it) anyway link below good price for both. Do you have sat-nav because it could be a little tricky if you do.

Regards to which Head Unit.. depends on your budget, your brand loyalties,

and of course what functions you require (Mp3, I-Pod, Bluetooth) etc.

you just need to be certain the number by the cassette slot is identical

13901-13906 etc.
