I had an IS200 for 6 years with no problems.

Bought a 2 year old IS220D 10 days ago. Last Saturday on the Isle of Wight the power steering failed resulting in RAC recovery home. (The ferry was interesting with no power steering).

Also the handbrake does not hold.

Also it only starts first time when it feels like it.

Also the fuel consumption is awfull.

The stereo stopped working-showed error code 3 (whatever that means) Got it to work again by turning everything off and ejecting the CDs.

I got it to the dealer this morning, they would not collect it.

RAC was excellent, they arranged the hire car as well.

I await the dealers phone call with interest.

Has anyone else had power steering problems?

Also the handbrake does not hold.

Had a similar problem, wife couldn't get the handbrake to hold, local dealer adjusted it no problem, whilst in they did mention some had a problem but mine didn't fall into the batch with handbrake issues. Easy Fix for the dealer.

No problems starting...Onlt thing I would say is you need have the clutch buried to floor to get it started, after a month or so you get used to it.

Fuel Consumption....For a diesel forget fuel consumption...enjoy the luxury and the toys.... Get the dealer to check 5th injector and make sure the engine management software is up to date....

If you bought the car from a Lexus dealer I would expect you should be covered under used car warranty for a minimum of 30 days... Others may know more...
