How Many Miles Do You Get On The Fuel Empty Red Light?

Just wondering typically - btw on mine it's come on when the needle was (quite) above the "E" i.e. unexpectedly...

u have 10litres left when the light comes on so about 60 miles (in my case anyway)

Yes as above its 10 litres, I tend to run mine till the needle is off the bottom and half way through the "E", this leaves about 2 litres of fuel. I wouldnt advise it, just I know on my car how much I have left.

yeah mines about a tenner left as the first time i filled it up it was basicaly empty and i put £10 in to get me home and the light stayed on so i put another £5 and it went out

do most of you guys run 98 octane premium?... i dont know wot kinda of fuel you have in the UK though??

I didnt think it was good to let the tank get too low? I dont tend to let mine get below 1/4 of a tank!

Not sure i'd want to push it 60 miles - though the light on my GS comes on with a lot more than 10 litres left - more like 16 or 17 I think.

I believe our fuel is measured the same as yours, ie RON octane numbers rather than US-style MON ratings. Most of us use basic 95 unleaded, though some people swear blind they get better performance and/or economy from the 98 super unleaded fuels. Higher octane fuel is several pence per litre more expensive here though.

I usually do about another 40 miles, and then when I fill up it's always 65ltrs that goes back in (meaning there's 5 still in the tank)

well here we even have 91 octane fuel which is rubbish, i just filled up with 98 octane and its hardly moved off the full line and iv done 102kms(just abit more that 60miles i think)

i filled my car up yesterday with 69.51 liters (only 70 ltr tank) which cost £75 and i did 48 miles after the fuel light came on

yeah i run my is300 on shell v-power which I think is 98 RON octane I get an extre 30 or so miles on a tank of this compared to the standard stuff (95 RON)
