they said its because its painted in aztec fire, it needs sanding back, priming, maybe some plastic filler if stone chips are very deep (can't remember) and then painting up.

either way, its still a LOT of cash for a front bumper

never heard of the fish eye imperfection. will keep my 'eye' out for that

so just look directly on the bumper itself for that and under the car for overspray?? mind you, there should be no overspray as the bumper will be sprayed off the car...

it would be cheaper to replace it with a new one

hi mat, no mate, they're replacing the old bumper with a new one.

the old one is creased slightly and plastic is split.

so new one is being sprayed up and fitted

me and chris are talking about a TTE front bumper i bought off him thats in aztec firecolour that i want spraying 051....

well, got the car back today...........

..........but its booked in again on monday to get re-done :crybaby:

basically, the quality of the work is exceptional in terms of paintwork finish. but the colour match is too far off for my liking.

from the back of the car it looks spot on, but when u look from the side where the rear wing panels meet the bumper, there is a noticeable difference. The bumper seems to be whiter than the rest of the bodywork (if that makes any sense) and it needs to have more of a cream colour to it. also, the slight gap that runs between the wing panels, light cluster and bootlid with the bumper is even the whole way around, apart from on the passenger side wing, where there is virtually no gap in places (looks like the bumper is slightly mis-aligned in that area).

so the allignment is simple enough to solve, just a case of taking it off and fitting again and maybe bending the mounting pins ever so slightly, but the colour issue means spraying it again.

i appreciate that an exact match will be nigh on impossible, expecially when dealing with white based pearlescent paints (apparently very tricky), but it should be closer than it is.

But at least i have my car to play with this weekend :D :winky: :whistling:

its one of those things where if you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't notice it.....but when its ur pride and joy, u want it just right.

one good thing out of it is that i don't have to worry about the small scratch in the old bumper that i couldn't get out  and when its sorted, it'll be better than it was before B)

thats a shame matey but if your not happy with the job then its only right to have it done again hope its sorted for you soon mate :D

totally agree fella.

just rinsed the car (loads of surface dust) and dried her off and when the suns beating down on it its actually not a bad match up, but when it was overcast yesterday evening it didn't look right at all. the paint is just too white and needs deepening slightly.

will hopefully get it sorted this time!!lol!
