New Rear Discs And Pads Fitted

heya,

got my new brakes fitted, but when i turn the steering wheel right i can hear the passenger rear pad skim against the disc. the mech took it apart as he thought the sheild was rubbing but it wasnt. we jacked the car up put it in drive and released the brake to spin the wheel. the noise only happens when the pads are in the caliper.

he said he cant find anything wrong, and i was expecting some noise as the piston gets use to the new position. the noise has gotten quieter but im worried that it may over heat if it keeps happening.

has anyone experienced this before?

thanks

I had the same when I did the rear discs, it was hard to spot but it was the back plate rubbing on the disc.

Found the problem by running for a few miles and taking the disk off again, you could see the contact point where the lip on the back plate was shiny. I just filed a bit off the lip to get some clearance.

Hope that helps.
