Advice Needed

Hi all,

Just got back from a 350 mile round trip and everything was fine. Went to drop the missus off at hers and parked where i usually do (a stoned area) and heard a thud noise. I just thought it was a stone hitting the under carriage.

Anyway, went to leave and on my way home i heard the same noise about 4 or 5 times (i live less than a mile away). it was predominant around bends and over uneven/potholed surfaces.

So, i thought it could be the new exhaust catching on the bumper.......

Just took it for another spin and i'm not so sure. It seems the noise occurs when steering hard left (a quick spin of the wheel to the left sets it off).

counds more like its coming from the front left of the car.

does anybody have any ideas what it could be?? i'm hoping it something silly like a stone caught in the ?steering rack? or something like that??

just hope its nothing more major.

have you checked your arbs Rob to make sure there all nice and tight??

don't see why it would be them though mate......i've heard they cause a squeak type noise but never a thud/knock type noise.

will have to have a look in the morning, but was hoping i could get some possible causes by then ;)

Its not lower on one side than the other is it ? .... Thinking Roadspring maybe ??

meant to post up about this.

its all sorted now.

turned out it was the end link bolt that had worked its way loose slightly (probably as a result of heavy WD40'ing whilst trying to undo it originally).

anyways, all sorted now, so thats a relief
