Tick Over Speed On Is220d

Recommended Posts

I have just taken delivery of a new IS220D. I am overal very pleased with it apart from the tick over speed. If I have the fan on speed 1 the revs decide to race to 1200 whilst sitting in traffic. It cuts down to 900ish after a short time then races back to 1200. If I turn the fan off the tick over is fine. My local Lexus garage have checked it out and say that everyhing is A OK.

Anyone had/got a similar problem?

It is common on all 220's, I have put it writing to Lexus and asked for an explanation along with other issues.

Local dealer told me that it is more common at this time of year than in the summer, revs drop down if you put temp below 18 degrees or switch off fan. Have also heard it is an attempt to reduce emmisions and durn off soot deposits.

Maybe here is a cause for poor fuel consumption.... Jamboo just ignore and don't get started about fuel consumption again... it will only put your blood pressure up... :)
