Removing A Sticker

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I want to get rid of the 'Made in Japan' sticker that's on the offside windscreen. I've tried picking at it with little, well, no success, it just comes off in tiny bits. Because of the cold weather, I'm conscious of the possibility of cracking the windscreen if I heat it up with a hairdryer or something. Has anyone got any ideas?

never seen one of these before! someones must of taken it off mine!

ya dont need to heat the screen much- just enough to warm the glue to soften it. maybe wait til summer n it'll be easier to get off without using a hairdrier. either way will prob leave some glue residue- i find nail varnish remover is good for clearing this stuff up. clean ya windows after tho!!

Just use a Single Edged Razor blade/ Stanley blade to scrape it off then clean off any glue with window cleaner take ya less than a minute. I do it at work to remove stickers from windows, just becareful if you do it to a rear screen not to damage the heat element.

Agree with the stanley blade.... just work at it at an angle.. comes off very easy...

I was looking for some WD-40 or similar to take off the residue, but all I found in the boot was some de-icer... thought what the heck, and gave it a go... and whaddya know... worked a treat !!!

Ive found stanleys can be a bit harsh on glass.

I use a twin edge wilkinson blade (old style razors), they work a treat, the blades are stupidly sharp but because they are flexible they can get right under the sticker leaving a little residude that can be wiped away with a cloth or even with ur fingers especialy after heating it up, or wiping with some alcohol based fluid.
