Lexus Gs300 Comfort ?

I currently drive a Toyota Avensis. I am very interested in buying a new Lexus GS300 however there is only one thing that is holding me back this far and that is that, in a couple of reviews i read they say that the new GS can be a little rough and bumpy at slower speeds and also when on un smooth roads, is this true ?. Personally i prefer a nice smooth drive where if you go over a hole in the road you dont notice it type of car. The old Avensis is just that, quiet, smooth as silk and you will only feel the most serious holes in the road should you go over it. Can anyone confirm or deny this. I as yet have not been for a test drive so i`d appreciate if anyone could make some comments regarding the smoothnes of the GS. Thanks.

i've got the mark 2 1999 sport gs with 18inch standard alloys. i was very surprised on how smooth the car is even though it had such large wheels.

we've got a carina-e in the house which as far as i can remember shares the same platform as the avensis.

if i had to choose comfort between the two, it would be the carina as it has alot more rubber to absorb roads.

but for driving pleasure it would always be the gs.

cant say about the new model though...

Ive driven a few and they are very smooth, best thing to do is try one yourself, only you will be able to compare.

The GS will have a diffrent ride, becuase of the tyre size..

I am proud owener of an avensis, I love i..

But nothing beats my is200 as the motorway galloper! :D

I've driven the GS hybrid and it's as smooth as silk. At the risk of being unpopular, in my opinion the Avensis can do anything a Lexus can do for less money - you just can't say 'I own a Lexus'.

My sister's Avensis (2001 1.8 VVTi Estate) is a very nice car, but it's always nice to get back behind the wheel of the GS.

If nice smooth ride is a priority and you want a Lexus, it sounds like a used LS430 would be a better option. Test drive one of those and your Avensis will be history!
