Gs300 Mk1 Roof Bars

Does anyone know if the roof bars for a MK2 (S160) Part Number PZ403-51612-GA will fit a Mk1? There's a set that have been on eBay for some time. I'm loathed to part with any money if they're not going to fit.

I would assume not, as the part number for the Mk1 is different. Just out of interest, how much are they on eBay? I bought a set off Steve on here but did ask the Lexus dealer last time I was in how much they were from them and they quoted me £88 (before mentioning the gold discount!), which is a bargain IMO.

Thanks for the really prompt reply. I've not posted anything before so it's nice to know that there are people keeping an eye out for new posts.

The bars are £67.98 including postage. They're supposed to be new & boxed so I guess that's not a bad price. I assumed, naively I guess, that the dealer price would be much more. I might pay them a visit unless you can suggest any other option.

Can't think of any better options mate, I emailed Thule to see if there was a foot pack available for the Thule Aero kit I already had. Got no reply. The Thule setup for my then E36 Coupe cost more than the Lexus genuine items so I can't see it being beaten by much, plus I couldn't find anything else other than fleabay for bars.

BTW, the price you have, is that for the lockable ones? I think there was a wee bit extra for the locks which is why I think it was £88 when I asked before. Worth checking as the locks are well worth it if they haven't got them as standard.

Yeh, that price was for the lockable ones. Just a shame they won't fit.

I've checked all the Thule catalogues but they don't list any bars for the MK1.

Seems like it's cheap generic bars, which I won't waste my money on, or Genuine Lexus ones.

I'll give my local dealers a ring in the morning & get a price.

Ah, miss read your reply, I thought for some reason you said they were £67 from your Lexus dealer, D'Oh.

I would definately go to the dealer for the real mccoy given the small price difference.

Worth keeping an eye on eBay I got a set a while back used for about £50 including postage and they are lockable.

A bit awkward to fit though and very noisy if you leave them on.
