Which Battery?

I need a new Battery for my 2001 IS200. Been to Halfords and bought the one listed as being suitable (HB072) only to find it was too big too fit. Went back and parts guy said I needed a HSB063 instead which looked the right size but is too small (Doesn't go up to level of Battery bar for one thing so will move about.) Anyone know what model no Battery I should get?

I'm not bothered about maximum performance as I will change the car shortly (new IS250 hopefully!) so a regular Halfords one will be fine.

The ones form Halfords are crap, get one from the dealer, they are not more expensive

Turned out I saved myself a few quid I think I paid £63 from Lexus and Halfords wanted £89.99!!! Plus the Lexus one looks better in my opinion -

My old Battery was a Unipart 65Ah which was in there when I bought the car in Aug '07. I also went to Halfords but were under powered. I picked mine up eventually from Lexus Woodford last week for £60.50. It's got Toyotoa's brand which they said is fine for the Lexus it but got the 65Ah that I wanted.

Hi All - Yeah I bought a New One from Lexus Hatfield @ £55 - I looked around everywhere and it was the cheapest with stock! The only think I'm told is to ensure that the date of the Battery is not that old- as the last thing you want is a Battery that has been sat there for ages - uncharged

Generally speaking thats true, however modern batterys are pretty good, so unless its a year or so old you should have no issues.

I got mine for just under 50 from local dealership.

No problem......and it has a 3yr warranty.

Best to get the Lexus Dealership Battery, its cheaper than the Halfords one by miles. Only problem is that it has Toyota branding on it barring that, it is ace!

My dad has a Audi A4 1.9tdi 130 Sport and all the OEM parts he gets from the dealers all have VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat logos printed on the boxes/packaging.

I know what c4shr means tho, the Factory Lexus batt is unbranded (to the casual observer), where as the current dealership ones do look like a bill board for toyota!

I bet if you look around a lot of lexus cars (up until last year at least) you will find Toyota stamped on parts........take a look at the rear light lenses. :)

Hmmm...as Audi now have Lamborghini under there belts, doubt there is any likelihood that a Lambo is going to have an 'Audi' branded Battery sitting in there!...Imagine.

Anyone have a part no for this 65Ah Battery from the dealer? I live pretty close to a Toyota dealer so would rather go there rather than the 15 mile drive to the nearest Lexus dealer. Might be a touch cheaper too without the Lexus markup

Just want to make sure I get the right one in case they aren't sure!

Unit price was £46.00 and with gold discount, £41.40. Hope inflation hasn't affected the prices!
