Hid Kits Ok For Non Projector Dip Beams?

Recommended Posts

Title says it all really.....new to Lexus, and will be picking up my RX this weekend.....wondering if the HID kits will be OK for the dip beams even though they are not projector style? Also how can the HID kits be used for main beams as HID's take a few seconds to "warm up"?.......either way, looking forward to this weekend :whistling:

Best regards David

Yes should be fine - I've had HIDs in my non-projector lights on my IS200 for a while now and they've been great, had no complaints either.

Can't really use HIDs in main beam for the reason you've mentioned, don't come on quick enough, and it's also bad for HIDs to flash them on and off just for a short period of time.

People on here have done the fogs though if you feel one set of HIDs isn't enough :)

Thanks for the replies.....yes I didn't word that quite right I think....not thinking of using HID's in the mains for the reasons as stated, just in the DIP's......only ever installed in projector DIP's before. But sounds like its a goer in the normal reflector type though excellent!

Just need a pair of superbright 9006's for the mains.....

Best regards David
