In most cars it's a lot safer for small children to be seated in the rear, even in a child seat that is facing the rear.

When we had our jeep with the rear airbags we had to go to the dealer to have the rears turned off as they said it would possibly have the same effect as having the child seat in the front they did it for free aswell if i remember? we then had them turned back on when we replaced the seat for a forward facing one, Not sure though if they can turn them off in the rear of a lexus but would be worth asking, from a safety point of veiw for your little one

Thanks for the info. The dealer that I spoke to wasn't too sure but I always thought it was risky

When my lil one one born we where told that we can only put a baby seat in the front if you can turn off the air bag system, which you can on most new cars.

But for saftey reason we kept the rear facing seat in the rear seats.
