mate that 330d,with the stig behind the wheel was awesome.i think they did some serious mods though to enter a 24hr endurance race-costly modifications required.

quite enjoyed last nights episode and it had to be Richard who crashed the bmw into another car but was good to see them finish the race the Ascari was quite an amazing motor too? Its a shame we have to wait now for 2wks till its on again due to the crappy snooker :ban-em:

I have heard rumours that hampster will shortly be leaving topgear but not sure if its true???

They are talking about that 330D on the BMW forums too. The mods I spotted were the Strut Brace (I have been trying to get one for ages for the diesel..lol), Coilovers (think they were Blistein), that long range fuel tank and the AP Racing big brake kit (which I had my eye on a while back ;) ) and the light weight racing wheels in addition to the cosmetic bits stripping the interior etc.

I wonder if they remapped the car or modded the engine in any way? They could have remapped if for more economy. Wonder how the car would have done on normal/V-Power Diesel rather then the crappy Top Gear stuff that had too much methoynl in it..

That other 330d they were racing against, looked like a pre-facelift (<2001) car so they should have beaten that easily since they had much more power and torque.
