Just to say to those with SAT NAV/LEVINSON PACKAGE......I modified mine during the week and although I was not all that fussed about doing it Iam really glad I did .It just makes it so more usuable

What kind of modifications you are talking about?

Speed override? It is pretty simple to make some re-wiring...

Does anyone have "instructions for dummies" for satnav hack for IS 220/250 manual transmission? The link above is a bit vague. I need a "how to" on dismantling the console box to get to the sat nav unit, the actual wire/wires needing cut, why there seems to be 2 wires needing modified instead of just the VSS one, etc. Wish there was an auto-electrician in the UK willing to do that for us....

Any Autolekky will do it for you - just give them the link/info found above. They'll charge you labour (probably £50+vat total - 2 hours work) and tell you they can't be held responsible for it going wrong...

You will have to tell your insurance company mind....it is a mod whether you consider it to be one or not
