Just spoke to Lexus GB and they said nothing is confirmed yet and the recall has to go through VOSA 1st before it goes ahead. This can take a while they are saying

This is a bit worrying - as the driver of an IS which was registered bang in the middle of that timeslot, I look forward to seeing what happens next.

I've just checked on Vosa website to see if theres any concerns or recalls registered for my IS 250 registered in december 2005 and it doesnt have anything yet. The website is www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp

I'm in Texas at the moment and just caught the end of this subject on the news this morning. It seemed to only apply to the the IS250 models made in that time period. Unfortunately it also incudes mine. :crybaby:

Don't panic everyone, i've just had the bulletin through at work

Its only for IS250 and GS300 in the European market made between Sept 2004 and December 2005.

No incidents of failure has been reported so far in europe

looks like i should be getting a letter then.

An article appears in today's Daily Mirror about it, for all IS250 and GS300. The thing is it says the cars sell for £23k to £29k, I wish Lexus sold the GS300 that cheap, would be good if they did.

That's a relief for those of us who drive the old model IS, then.

I love Lexus recalls. When my Dec 05 IS was recalled for the seatbelt fix it was washed and vaccuumed with a nice bottle of champagne left on the seat and £20 worth of fuel added. I wish they would recall mine every week -say about Saturday so me and the missus can enjoy the champagne while watching a DVD later.

A dealer will tell you if you give them a chassis number, all vehicles affected will be notifted by post

had mine done on Friday as lexus Bristol had the IS in for oil usage check - VCS alarms- drivers side windscreen wiper problems (its their 4th attempt to get it right and they have failed again)

said they had now recived the replacment parts for the recall and as they had it in would do it - they have greased my palm with a nice bottle of champers and a first class wash and brush up

cheers
