Headlight Condensation

 Share

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question, i seem to have a bit of condensation inside one of my headlights. Does this need a completely new headlight or can this be resolved in some other way ?

I have few stone chips on the bonnet and was wondering if anyone knew of a good chip repair service in the Kent area ?

Cheers

Tim

on the back of the light housing are 2 covers ( although u can only see 1) flip theese open and remove the small bit of foam and dry it out, then use ur lights for a bit to remove all condensation then put the dry foam back in and close the cover again.

I had major condensation ( it totally covered the lenses ) in both my IS300 lights for past six months, despite trying many times to dry out with hair dryer etc. Finally pealed back the rubber seals around the main beam bulbs so some air gets around and after a few days the condensation totally disappeared. I was a bit worried at first about water getting in to the lights now the seal was pulled back, but after a month of running with rain & power washing every week no problems !

I had a similar problem a couple of months back, I read on here a little and very simple solution, and it worked. Get a towel fold in half and place over effected light and turn on full and main beam and leave for ten mins.
