Hard To Start/idle Bad Till Rpm Raised

My 92 ls 400 has become hard to start with the accelerator pedal having to be depressed in order to start. will not idle immediately after starting until engine is revved up in excess of 2000 rpm.

after initial start and idle problems it runs fine.

do not have lexus dealer in my town and the snap-on scanners do not pick up codes

we replaced the two front o-2 sensors on the advise of a lexus parts man who said that they never even stock the two rear sensors

replaced the tewmperature sensor also but neither appeared to help

have 136000 miles on the and have not had any problems in the past

I have the opposite problem to you on my GS. from cold it idles far to high until it warms up and then drops to normal

Had seen the same problem. You'll want a qualified mechanic to take apart the idle control valve and clean it out. There isn't much point replacing the unit since it'll just get dirty again. Should be about a 2 hour job.

Hey my 92 ls400 wont turn over i changed the starter, rotors, distributors, spark plug, wires and fuel filter. A wrench fell on the Battery while I was changing the rotors and I got quite a spark but pryor to that the car was fine.
