Updating Sat Nav...

if i uprgrade the sat nav cd in my lex will it change what it looks like to a more updated fresher version, or will it just add the new roads and places that have been built and look the same old out of date sat nav?

not that its a problem, but i dont wanna spend money upgrading the cd just to add a few roads here and there.

i think im right in saying that, if you have v3 or above on the CD based system, then you have the latest software version.

if however you have the DVD version, then i believe that there is some firmware upgrades on the discs, dependent on what you currently have.

im sure someone will be round to help you further.

It'll update the roads and the system software as i did it a bit back and still look like the old 1 ?

If you press numbers 1 and 6 on the stereo and hold them in then press the cd button 3 times when you 1st open the screen (on the caution screen) with the ignition on the first click you can do a system check to see which software you have and find a few other things out about your nav system like how many satelites your linked to and if your gps system is online and working? plus other bits i cant remember? ;) Probably a bit of useless info but thought i'd add it anyway? :D

I got my updated disc off a chap on eBay who used to sell the updated cd roms but he's no longer selling them now? :o

Very good, but do they do different things or are they the very same, just the dvd type has more info or what ??
