Help, What Can I Expect 4 £6000

I've decided to get a GS, but only have upto 6K to spend. What could I honestly expect for this sort of money.

I've seen various cars on autotrader in my price range, what should i try to go for ?

Would like options :- SAT/NAV/TV

My father is looking at a new car, and a GS @ around 5k is in his shopping list - so will share your post if you don't mind Nethany?

No problem.....from what ive seen there is just a huge variation in prices between simiar models/age/miles.

Just looked on www.autotrader.co.uk and there are 29 between £5k and £6k. So that is a place to start to see what you can get for your money.

the aristo was 3k and needed £600 but what a fantastic car

I got my mk1 gs300 july last year, it is imaculate although does have 135000 on the clock, but having said that, it had all its servicing done at the correct intervals and all by lexus, I paid £6250 for my and as it was comming up for another service i told him that i wanted it done before i bought it... :D glad i did as the resulting full service bill was just short of £1000 with lexus bill to show it... and that was just after he put new boots on all round.. I almost felt sorry for him specially as i put down a deposit so he could not raise the price

At the other end of the price range and depending if you are prepared to take a gamble, you could always buy one without any history. My car was £3200 last July. It had been in an accident and deemed beyond economic repair. It had been straightened very well but the panel fit (one front wing and bonnet)and respray were awful. Its all sorted now apart from the paint which you can only notice in bright sunlight. It turns out to have had 3 previous owners, an unmarked interior and it drives absolutely superb and in a straight line. Oh, and everthing works on it unlike my previous Jag which fell to pieces and rusted right before my eyes despite only being 5 years old at the time of buying. :)
