Brake Smoke

Recommended Posts

hi,

i changed the front disc & pads today on my is300, all is well, but i took my car around the block after fitting them and jus testin them out, but on the way back to my house i had to break hard as a football came into the road infront off me, so i slammend on the brakes, and after a couple of seconds i started to see smoke, so i pulled over and it was coming from front brakes - was this due to brakes being new and me having to slam on the brakes?, i checked the engine bay, underneath off car jus to make sure it was nothin else.

My mate's beemer normally has smoking brakes but thats because he likes to make the most of his stopping power! lol.......

......when i changed them on my Toyota Paseo it was a bit like that a bit but nothing to worry about, mine smelt a bit though when they were bedding in but went very quickly! =]
