Hello guys :)

Think we booked the 14:20 last time and get there about an hour earlier and i'm sure they put us on the next train for no extra.

Coming back we picked the 16:40 so we could do a bit of shopping before coming home.

I've not booked anything yet so whatever the majority is. It's just easier for us northerners on the train as it means we don't have to leave as early :)

Those times are great for me too. I'll book mine at the end of the month when i get paid.

Just watched Clarkson going round ring with Jag Diesel. That girl was pretty good too. What soet of times do you guys go round the ring. Is there a table with times from previous visits

Times are a bit less inportant Rod,

Paul T has some times for his goes and i think Raj has a couple but if you start timing yourself the problem is you can push it too hard and end up in an accident.

Been reading some interesting thread around the web about the Ring this year;

Firstly, their cracking down on noise pollution not just the so called random tests where quiet cars were picked.

Ben Lovejoys updated his site here: Click me

Secondly the German filth are cracking down on dodgy modded cars. And demanding TUV certificates.

See here: Ben Lovejoy, again and here: Clicky

I think i should be ok but i'll prob take my MOT certificate with me just to have some sort of proof.

My mate has one of these: Clicky Item number: 230186634677

On his Supra, could be the answer?

and Raj, i think its just on dodgy, unsafe looking cars, its more "that car looks dangerous lets check it" than picking every tenth car sort of thing i believe

they cannot expect a UK car to produce TÜV certification, they also cannot do you for something that "would " not be allowed in Germany.

as long as the car meets Current European levels of safety, and read this, has a current UK MOT, the car is insured and the driver has a driving licence, there is nothing the Polizei can do.

regards your exhaust Gord, as there is no current defined Noise limit for public highway use in the uk, again the Polizei cannot impound the car, as it is a UK car, meeting UK std's, the worst they can do, is escort you to the border, or fine you for noise polution, but, they can only do this if there is a translator present.

was a long thread on northloop about this.

Seems the consensus was if your car attracted attention you may get pulled.

What Mat says is correct BUT I bet you 50p you can argue all you want they will still say nein when you try to drive on the ring IF they dont like the look of your car/you

Just take your logbook/MOT/Insurnace and stay happy

BTW they do do noise tests from time to time

My handy hint................get there for 9am when its quiet but they will not be there then !

I suggest you all join ADAC as if you have a prang your membership will get you off the ring for free (think its 300 euros if you are a non member)

Also take the high visibility jackets with you

Also make sure you have a CC with you with at least £5k on in case you have a prang and have to pay for the ARMCO etc.

Hi all ,

after reading this above I have some questions regarding driving in Europe,

and other ring requirementsas I am a newbie. Can we have some sort of definitive

list from people who have been before ?

What is ASAC ?

Hi-Viz Jackets is this Driver only or all passengers ?

A refective Warning Triangle needs to be carried ?

Full Bulb replacement kit needs to be carried ?

First Aid Kit needs to be carried ?

MOT, Insurance & Drivers Licence & Logbook ?

I am sure there are many others that we need to be aware of so over to the experienced ringers.......
