I will have a crack at it for you mate :D

I use Roxio, and it has never failed yet..

depends on the format you are using, the type of disks you are using, and your DVD player.... some don't like certain disks etc.

Depending on age, not all DVD players will play DVD+R.

If you think there was no other problem with creation, might be worth trying to create the same movie on a DVD-R disc and see if that works.

Not sure what that "DVD compatible to all" is, but in my experience, best to leave any of those settings off and just make sure it creates a "video disc" and the disc in finalised.

Btw, when you say it works in your PC, does it autoplay as a video when you insert the disc?

re did it without doing the compatable thing............

now i can see the names of the clips on the dvd....................yipeeeeeeeeee

but............when i press play nothing happens..........i think it thinks they are mp3 files............

file extansion on the dvd is .wmv

If the file extensions are .wmv then it means they are windows movie player files and will not play on most standalone DVD players.

Sounds like you have converted to wmv files and simply copied across to a dvd.

DVD players require .vob files - you need to convert the .wmv files to dvd format - do a search on google for "wmv to dvd" or "wmv to VOB" for a converter

Yep as Mark W says, .wmv is windows media video (which is why the DVD player is thinking they're MP3s and why it doesn't autoplay in your PC)

How did you create the movies in the first place (as in get them off your camcorder to your PC) and then how did you burn them to DVD (what option did you choose in the program you're using)?

thanks everyone........

just downloaded them onto the pc then copied them onto the dvd disc...........

no options (like dvd player)

Sounds like you've just copied the files directly onto the disc then........

Which program are you using? Is it Roxio MyDVD?

If so, there should be 3 options to choose from - create audio disc, create data disc or create video disc. I think at the moment you must be creating a data disc (essentially just dragging and dropping video files onto the disc)

You need to select video disc - it should still be as simple as dragging the files into the window and then burning, but this time it'll write the files to the disc in the correct format to play in a DVD player

If you have the full Roxio program, then you will have an option to make a DVD video disk..

it will take the wma files and convert to the correct format (mpeg2) and then burn to dvd as vob files.

This process can take quite some time, as it renders the video..

I think you would be better off getting the full program... does everything you can think of, including mp3 disks, DVD, VCD, ripping from CD etc...

Also does video editing, Audio editing etc

PM me if you want any other details...
