Upper Control Arms & Suspension Bush,s

Recommended Posts

My 1995 LS400 has just failed the MOT because of upper control arm ball joints are worn. My questions

1 Where are the best places to get hold of the 2 control arms with new ball joints, Anywhere in Britain? or America

2 While this suspension work is being done is it worth replacing any of the other suspension pieces like bushes. Again what would the car benefit from having replaced? What would be the cost? and British or American Suppliers?

I would appreciate the help

Mark 3 LS introduced in 1995, but mark 2's were still available. These will not fit the Mark3, easist way to check, Shift lock on Mark 2 built into gear lever,Shift Lock on Mark 3 ,rectangular button ,mounted into centre console.

Your car is 12 years old. Chances are the entire suspension is worn, but the upper control arms are worn so bad that they failed the MOT. Your rear axle carrier bushes are probably going to go next, and those are expensive unless you go down the polyurethane route.

Doing a complete suspension overhaul is going to be costly.

Try Darrel Diller@Sewells in the states for your control arms. Even after shipping and duty, it's going to work out cheaper than buying from the UK.

Phone on 001 214 352 8100

remember they are 7 or 8 hours behind UK time!

Shep,

Try this here

Been on eBay for a while,so make offer of about £65, (you never know). I'm sure you could source another cheaply. Notice your location, so ,if you wanted it fitted I'm sure the workshop that did mine would do you a good deal. If interested, PM me.

Graham.
