Gearbox Removal

Just a quick question, can the IS200 gearbox be removed without loosening off the engine mounts and tilting the engine to get at the bell housing bolts and to clear the bulkhead?

The clutch on Mrs Macs car needs replaced and I am thinking about doing a DIY job, info will help in the decision making process on whether it is worth that hassle to save £100.

Don't think there is any need to loosen the engine mounts, just need to drop the driveshaft off.

yup, the engine doesnt need to have the engine mounts loosened, there is enough flex in them to allow the engine to tilt backwards

So a little bit of gentle upward persuasion at the front with a trolley jack should do it then.
