Lexus Aurora Wheels And My Speedo

Hey Pop pickers!

I have just opted for some 17in rims running 235/45 17V Rubber. will this mean that the rolling radius by which my speedometer is governed will now be wrong as it is calibrated to 16in rims running 225/55 16s ??

I don't want to be in court for speeding when I though I was in the limit.... Does this make a diff?

I thought Playa might be the Rim specialist and then I thought that might sound a bit seedy. But I still put it so what the heck!

By the way, thanks for your patience, I have been absorbed my my off roading antics and the good news is, I have a Roll bar for the LS400 Pick Up truck!!!

Gold members can see it kindly posted my Mr McNally on the similar thread in our "exclusive" forum!

Glad to be back, y'all!

Loz :hehe::yahoo:

Welcome back Loz

I reckon that your speedo should be reading correctly because you have now got lower profiles but bigger rims. If you had kept the same profile as you had on the 16" rims then you would have had a problem.

I stand to be corrected  but I think you'll find you are OK.

This should sort you out.

According to the calculation you'd be going 59mph when the speedo reads 60mph. You could actually go to 245/55/17 if your wheel can take it, but you'd probably have problems with the width of the wheel rubbing the arches/lining.

Yo yo yo, Zee Where's the Bass?

Thanks, Man

Sorry I can't make the 2nd but I will be sipping cockktails by the pool in Mexico. Or I might be big game fishing that day actually. Or is it the day we are suppossed to be scuba diving?

Anyway, next meet I will bust one to get there. if only to get props for my "grown up" rims..

Ps. At the risk of going down the pimp road......

How could I lower it by about 30mill. without messing up the ride or the front spoiler under braking? Can it be done without too much harshness.

So saving a further £23 on the set would have to be considered a bargain then?

Loz

I rate you should get some different OZ alloys. aint to fond of them aurora alloys, look to boring, need something to stand out on the car.

jus my oppinion

they look fine on the car.

wouldn't say they "stand out" - but then this is a GS - not a Saxo - need to keep the refined luxury look going on.

I liked 'em Loz - looking good.

need tints though mate - defintely.
