Planned Attacks At Heathrow

I was listening to the news in regards to the 2 men arrested at Heathrow and 1 carrying a Hand granade at Gatwick. It was also announced that there was a planned attack in august but never went ahead.

I was planning to head off into the sun but now I am staying at home because I just feel unsafe travelling by plane!

Who else is having second thoughts about flying? and what about if you were due to fly into Heathrow knowing that there is a possible attack on any airliner that flies into Heathrow?

How much do intelligeance know.. i expect alot and how do they find out this stuff?

wouldnt go that far steve, cancelling ur hols - no way for me!!!!! the chances are so slim that if anything did happen that it would be the plane ur on etc etc its sensationalism by the media that has a lot to do with this i think.

Am flying through Gatwick on Sunday .... was quite relieved earlier in the week that all of the attention was on Heathrow and not Gatwick ... but then that pesky Venezualan/Columbian/Bangladeshy (depends which paper you read) turned up with a little hand grenade ... :angry:

Come to think of it ... with all of those Police and troops at heathrow, I wonder if they will be able to find my bag ...... seems to go missing every other time I fly through there ..

I've recently started back travelling for work and was in Paris on Monday, so missed the army at Heathrow.

Got up to travel into Slough to the office on Tuesday and there were loads of armed police. That sort of freaked me out until I realised, it's probably a lot worse if they're not there!

I don't have much choice as I have to travel for work, but I think the powers that be have a pretty good idea of what they're looking for.

The Germans or the IRA couldn't get us down, lets get on with doing what we do.

I'm sure flying to Thailand is O.K. What I have heard is that the threats are specific to U.S. airlines flying to/from the states and out of Heathrow.

Having said that I would fly anyway!!!!

BTW I'm not feeling very evil nowadays. I may have to change my log-in.
