Same goes for using a pressure washer on bodywork !!!:ohmy: - They should be shot !!! (Not the pressure washers but the people :P !!)

Using a pressure washer on any of the body panels can cause serious damage. If you have so much as a tiny stone chip on that panel a pressure washer can cause the laqeur/paint to start lifting. Once that's started, it's nothing short of a respray for the effected area !!:ohmy::ohmy:

You have been warned peoples......

Aye very true..... never knew that about the sidewalls though - that's a shocker.

High pressure water jets are also used to cut metal plate, so it should come as no surprise that even at lower pressures damage can be done to susceptible materials. In the O&G industry we routinely pressure test equipment with water at pressures of 10K, 15K and occassionally 22.5K, and believe me we treat those pressures with a great deal of respect...people can and have been maimed and killed by water leaks at those pressures.

Last time the IS200 had some paintwork done the bodyshop used a pressure washer to valet the car and removed a large area of clear coat. Needless to say it had to go back in for repair at their cost :tsktsk:
