Cutting a long story short I have the key for the wife's IS, she has the valet key but it won't unlock the car with the remote button on the key. Presumably because it has been lying in a drawer for a few years and the Battery is flat.

She can open the drivers door with the key manually but of course the alarm goes off! The car will start but the alarm keeps going.

Is there any way of silencing the alarm?

TIA

you need to have the engine running for about 20 secs then the alarm will stop - all info in the owners manual

Thanks mate, unfortunately I am 40 miles away at work and the manual is that distance away in the car

Will give her a call and let her know.
