I think your only options are:

- Use one of those FM transmitter things (quite crap)

- Use a wired FM adaptor (not too bad but won't be CD quality)

- Replace the head unit with one that has aux-in or iPod interface

Or if you are handy with a screwdriver and a soldering iron you could try adding your own RCA jacks as detailed here:

Prolex used to to an aux-in adaptor for the OEM head unit but I think the guy who made them is very ill so they are no longer available.

Get one that will plug into your cigarette lighter because if you get one like mine (Belkin) as soon as the Battery starts to go it starts to lose its broadcast strength and the signal so the reception is terrible. I ended up buying rechargeable batteries and a charger for mine.

fm transmitters are the worst option because of reception problems (it's difficult to find an unused frequency) and because the Lexus FM performance is poor.

Tape adapters can work better than FM transmitters.

Otherwise go with the expensive Vaistech solution:

found a few on applestore.com but need to know how well they'll work before spending £55 on it.

is the vaistech adapter a plug and play and will it keep the ipod charged?

thanks for any help :D

This is the one I bought a few months ago

Works a dream, no problems at all. I have my old one here that you select the frequency from the ipod itself. Your more than welcome to it.

I have an iTrip. Works ok, I only use it for podcasts so I switch it to mono to improve the signal. It's just a pain trying to find a frequency that isn't in use. Also it really drains the Battery on the ipod.
