I was told by a salesman that the GS350 is imminent for the UK mid-next 2007. Will this new engine kill the sales of the new GS300?

Once it's out then it may affect resale but no more than any other face lift.

I'm not really sure why they didn't launch with the GS350 like they did in Japan in the first place.

I imagine the GS430 will also be killed off. The 350 has more power and the 4.3 engine is only being used in the low volume selling GS430 and SC430 now the LS has a new engine.
