Brake Calliper's

Not wishing to cause panic but has anybody else had a calliper failure

Last service they kept the car due to finding a cracked Brake Calliper

Engineer came to inspect from somwhere prior to replacement to assess problem

Never seen anything on this site so it could have been a "one off"

Had a new loner so i was happy

I don't know exactly what your problem was, but I had to replace a front caliper (and disks) due to it being seized. Despite a RX350 loan (which was nice) it still cost me £700 (which wasn't). The car's done 65k.

I have heard of it happening on Soarers and Supras, around the bleed nipple. Possibly from being overtightened? Perhaps the RX has a similar caliper design.

It was a fracture in the metal work -

No problems since replacement to-date !
