Saving Satnav Routes

Recommended Posts

The routes offered by the satnav in my IS 250 are often inappropriate (I am being polite . . :P ).

I can structure an effective route by stringing together a series of intermediate destinations, but it takes time and I cannot find any way of saving the route created so that I can use it again at some future date. I can save the intermediate destinations, but it appears that I have to re-create the route each time I want to use it.

Am I missing something?

Incidentally, is there any way of editing the names of intermediate destinations to make them more meaningful, given that some of them will just be road junctions?

I am trying very hard to use the system, but it continually disappoints me when compared with the after-market offerings.

Not sure about IS but my RX has a "record route" function which may help. Other option is to store lots of common places as memory points and string these together as a route. Quicker than inputting lots of addresses and also gives sensible names on screen - for example I have one set for the M1/M25 jct and also for A404/M40 as I use these as starting points for most places I travel to.

You can also try defining areas to avoid - my satnav used to insist on taking me down teh M3 for every journey!! :-)
