Hi everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself.

Yesterday I ordered a 220d Sport MM which will be delivered on 5th December

Its in Argento Ice with grey interior, would have preferred black interior but that would have been February delivery.

Test drove all the usual suspects, Audi and BMW were both bland and to spec up would have cost lots extra.

Cant wait to get it. :D :D :D

As I'll be doing about 30K per annum I need to invest in a Road Angel or equivalent.

Does anyone else have one they can recommend. Dont particularly want to have to attach it to windscreen with suckers as it just attracts chavs to break in so I mean sitting on top of dashboard

Any suggestions anyone?

Rosie

Welcome to LOC

I have the Road Angel Plus, this unit is Battery powered, single charge lasts for about 10 hours of constant driving, it switches itself off when the car stops for longer than 10 minutes so it is only on when the car has been started (has a switch inside the unit that monitors movement, clever stuff). It comes with the usual windscreen mount, a little like a cradle. It also comes with a small magnetic mount (the unit has a metal disk in the base that sticks to this, the other side is sticky and that just sticks to your dash, therefore the mount is not too obvious to the light fingered brigade!! This unit also has laser detection so highlights you to those men in little white vans!! This option can be switched off though so it is future proof

Why did I buy this (I had a Snooper for nearly 5 years), no hard wiring, no false alarms, easy to move from car to car and it's future proof.

So, enjoy your car, when you finally get it, I know I am, picked mine up 31st October.

I use the Microfusion GPS detector (these will remain legal when the new laws come in very soon) http://www.microfuzion.co.uk/

I have had no problems with it at all and it only costs £99 with FREE updates for life :) , I got mine on eBay for £79.

The reason I liked it was that I tested a friends before I purchase it and it will operate placed down by the gear lever so it’s well out of the way. It does cover the heated seat switch a little but that’s no great hardship. I am amazed how well it picks up the satellites down there. I have only had one occasion when it failed to see them and that was in an extremely heavy rainstorm for about five minutes. A green light comes on to show that the signal has been lost.

Just to say I have the auto box on mine and as yours is a diesel it has to be a manual. The reason I’m mentioning this is that I know the centre consol is different and it may not sit as easily down there, just a point to think about.

I hope you enjoy the new car as much as I do mine.
