I had a disaster this evening.

I was fitting some new sidelights, the LED type.

I was thinking they seemed kinda loose in the holder when I fitted them - you know where this is going....

I fitted the offside and all was ok.

I fitted the nearside and 'clonk' - b*******!!

The LED light had fallen out the holder and was now lying in the bottom of the headlight. How was I going to fix this without it being expensive??

After much panic and wondering how to remove the headlight and 'melt' open the seals, I hatched an ingenious idea.

I threaded a thin piece of wire into the headlight via the hole left by the sidelight - this took about an hour, I kid you not, it wasnt easy. Attached to the end of the wire was some 'Araldite'. Carefully I placed the end of the wire onto the LED and let it sit for half an hour. Then hey presto, I gently pulled the LED from inside the headlight.

No need for expense, no need to bake the headlight in an oven at gas mark 4 for 20 minutes.

In case it should happen to you..... :winky:

Very intuitive!

I've done a similar sort of thing with a blob of blu-tack on the end of a kebab skewer to rescue lost nuts & bolts :duh:
