Hid Bulbs - Are They Compatible?

Hi guys,

One of my 6000K HID bulbs has begun to fade and will probably die within a few days. Can I buy HID bulbs from anywhere e.g from Prolex or do they have to be the same make to be compatible with the Ballast??

I originally got them from the US so don't want to have to wait for replacements to be shipped over.

Would rather replace the pair, then just one.

BTW - My Internet has been off since last Tuesday and NTL have STILL not fixed it, thats why I'm not on the site as much as normal.

i believe you can replace them with any pair of HID bulbs, however you may notice a difference in colour between manufacturers... :) so best to replace them in pairs, although they are still quite expensive.

I'll send Prolex a PM and see what they can dp. With no internet at home, I can't even order them online from where I bought them! lol!!

I used my headlights again on Thursday night, and they both "sparked" ON and as far as I can tell, both were as bright as each other i.e very bright??

Does that suggest a dodgy connection somewhere?? Can't see anything obvious, or is my ballast on its way out?
