Help With Remote Control

Recommended Posts

I have a 53 plate is 300 sport and my friend has just bought a 99 plate gs 300 sport. If he keeps his finger on the lock button ALL windows & sunroof close. If he presses unlock then they ALL open fully & sunroof slides full open.

When i do these actions on my remote it doesn't do anything. Does this function work only on the gs? Mine is alot newer you would think that this feature would work on the entire range or certainly on the sport versions.

Can anyone clarify that it doen't work on my is 300 sport please? Or can i go to the dealer and have the remotes re-programmed? Microwave sensors are also de-activated. How do i re-activate them?

Thanks to EVERYONE....

This was a feature on the GS - it's not available on the IS without aftermarket electronics, Prolex offered these at one time but not sure if these are available any longer?

I think that some aftermarket alarms such as the Clifford also offer this functionality.

I thought so, but thanks for confirming it for me. Typical eh??? Are there any other settings i can change when using my remote?

Not really aware of anything pal, maybe someone else could step in with something?

All I know on the IS was that two clicks of the lock button in succession either disabled the interior alarm sensors or deadlocked the car, depending on the year of manufacture.

Apart from that the IS system does what it says on the tin, lock, unlock, and the boot, unless you turn the key in the boot to prevent it being opened from inside the car.

My Aristo doesn't have the fancy stuff either like full closure so I assume it's part of the alarm they fit to the cars after they leave the factory?

Thanks again. Its a 53 plate is 300 and it deadlocks if you press lock twice. Microwave sensors activation/de-activation on remote must be for older versions. I've always had a Lexus and i am looking to buy a new/different model so hopefully more gadgets. Mine has plenty (+ extras) but i want more!
